About

Every day, students consume bucketloads of information of their own volition—books, movies, TV shows, music, and more. When it comes to analyzing and critiquing this content, however, their own voices are sorely underrepresented.

Zenith is an online, student-run review magazine dedicated to the promotion of teen voices in cultural and media analysis. Think of it as a critics’ club, if you will—one reserved for youths ages 14 to 18. Writers can write reviews of books, movies, TV shows, music, and more; they can also engage in in-depth, long-form analysis (see “Long-form/Essay” section). The goal here isn’t to disparage or to blame, but rather to foster healthy, respectful dialogue. After all, the texts we read, the movies we watch, and even the food we eat shape our lives. Shouldn’t we try to better understand them, to truly digest what we’re consuming?
